Day 1: Arrival At the Airport And Leave to Nuwara Eliya

  • Our company tour guide will meet and welcome you at the Airport
  • Relevant assistance for mobile SIM card
  • On our way, we will visit a Tea Factory, where on a guided tour you can learn about the history and production, and also sample some of the best tea in the world.
  • Continuing on our way we will see Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, who had a prominent role in the events described in Indian epic Ramayana. We will also visit the nearby Ramboda Ella, a waterfall of stunning beauty.
  • The cool climate of tea country is not favorable for only the slow-growing tea tree, but also for the cultivation of some vegetables and fruits that look out of place on a tropical island. Our next stop will be in Strawberry Farm, where you can indulge in the aroma of these fruits.
  • Arriving in Nuwara Eliya we will visit Lake Gregory, artificial lake where the wealthy planters and civil servants of colonial-era spent their leisure time away from the often oppressive heat of coastal regions. In a similar fashion to them, we can spend time fishing, boating, or strolling the surroundings.
  • If time allows it, we will visit two places related to princess Sitha’s captivity described in the Ramayana. The Seetha Amman Temple, and a wooded area above it, Ashok Vatika, where Lord Hanuman presented proof of his identity to Sitha.
  • Overnight stay and relax at the hotel in Nuwara Eliya

Day 2: Nuwara Eliya to Ella

  • The next day we are starting our journey very early, around 5 o’clock in the morning. Breakfast is provided in form of the takeaway at Horton Plains National Park.
  • The Horton Plains National Park is situated on a plain that rises more than 2 kilometers above the sea level. We will visit this popular hiking location and enjoy the stunning view from the World’s End. Vista which in the morning becomes obscured by mists covering the valley below.
  • The cool and temperate climate of Sri Lankan central plains is favorable for agricultural activities more in the character of Northern Europe than tropical islands. We will visit the New Zealand Dairy Farm, where you can enjoy the sight more common on the north of Netherland and Germany, black and white cows of the Holstein Friesian breed, languidly grazing on the rolling grassland. And also enjoy some excellent natural dairy products.
  • Afterward, we will visit Ella Rock, one of the most popular hiking locations in Sri Lanka. The popularity is due to the magnificent view of the surrounding hills from this place.
  • Continuing on our way, we will visit one of the most famous bridges on the island, the Nine Arches Bridge. This railway bridge gently curves over the ravine against the backdrop of lush jungle-like greenery, which it is a popular tourist spot and one of the most photographed places in Sri Lanka
  • Overnight stay and relax at the hotel in Ella.

Day 3: Ella To Yala

  • After breakfast at the hotel in Ella, we will head for the Yala National Park.
  • The first stop on our way will be the Little Adam’s Peak, a very popular hiking location, which offers stunning views of the surrounding hillsides and tea plantations. Named so due to similar physical characteristics to the famous pilgrimage place, but on a much smaller scale.
  • Continuing on our way we will visit two more places connected to the events of epic Ramayana. The magnificently beautiful Ravana Ella waterfalls, where princess Sitha bathed while she was spending part of her captivity in the Ravana Cave.
  • Next, we will visit a bit of a mysterious ancient Buddhist temple, the Buduruwagala Temple. The original name of this temple is lost in time and is today called after a “rock with Buddhist sculptures” or Buduruvagala. These seven sculptures, chiseled in the rock face, are dating from the 10th century, and show remains of bright paints and plaster decorations. The central sculpture, with 16 meters is the tallest sculpture of standing Buddha in Sri Lanka.
  • In the afternoon, we will arrive at Yala National Park, and enjoy the safari in the most famous wildlife reserves on the island. Yala is world-famous as a place of stunning natural beauty, featuring several starkly different ecological zones, and as the place with the highest concentration of leopards in the world. With a little bit of luck, we will see one of these majestic, but elusive animals.
  • Overnight stay and relax at the hotel in Yala.

Day 4: Yala to Air Port

  • After breakfast at the hotel in Yala, we will embark on the journey to Bandaranaike International Airport.
  • On our first stop, we will visit the Kataragama Temple complex, which is home to the Buddhist temple dedicated to Kataragama deviyo, Hindu temple of the War God Murugan, and of a Muslim mosque. This is a rare place of worship for both Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and indigenous Vedda people.
  • Continuing along the southern coast, we will visit the Galle Fort. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, and stunningly well-preserved walled fortress originally built in the 16th century by Portuguese, and expanded by Dutch East India Company in the 17th.
  • Turning north along the coast we will arrive in the town of Kosgoda, where the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project is located. This institution is dedicated to studying and preservation of these magnificent animals. The hatchery it operates is serving an important function, by providing the protection of eggs during the part of their lives when they are the easiest prey of predators.
