Day 1: Arrival At the Airport And Leave to Kandy

  • Our company tour guide will meet and welcome you at the Airport
  • Relevant assistance for mobile SIM card Afterward, Then we will head for the city of Kandy.
  • The first stop on our way will be the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. This sanctuary for wild Sri Lankan elephants is an orphanage, nursery, and a breeding facility. Originally established for providing care and protection of orphaned and injured wild elephants, today it runs a successful breeding program. Twice a day elephants are taken to the nearby Maha Oya river, where you can watch them bathing and playing.
  • Continuing on our way, we will visit the Spice and Herbal Garden, where you can learn about the spice production and trade industry which exists in Sri Lanka for more than two millennia. The island is most famous for the true cinnamon, the spice of unsurpassed quality.
  • Arriving in Kandy we will attend the cultural heritage show which starts at 4 pm. The Kandyan Dance Show is the event every visitor to Sri Lanka has to see. With the dance routines developed through centuries from religious rituals, and as an art form of celebrating historical events, legends, and nature; it is one of the most important forms of Sri Lankan immaterial heritage.
  • After the show, we will visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. This temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is housing one of the most important Buddhist relics of Sri Lanka, a relic of Buddha’s tooth. According to legend, whosoever possess this relic has a right to rule the island, because of this, Sri Dalada Maligawa and temples that previously housed this relic were built as part of the royal palace complexes.
  • If the time allows it, we will visit the Gem Museum, traditional Wood Carving Factory, and the Batik Factory; where you can learn about the three most important traditional crafts.

Day 2: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

  • After breakfast at the hotel in Kandy, we will start our trip to Nuwara Eliya.
  • Our first stop on the road will be the Royal Botanic Garden in Peradeniya. Founded in the area where the royal palace gardens of one of the first Kandyan kings once stood, today it is the home of the collection numbering more than 4,000 different plant species. The most impressive part of it is the collection of orchids.
  • The temperate climate of Sri Lankan highlands is favorable to the slow-growing tea tree, which led to the booming industry since colonial times. We will visit a Tea Factory, where during a guided tour you learn about the history and process of producing the Ceylon tea, and also sample some of the best tea in the world.
  • The next stop we will make at Ramboda, where a Hindu temple, Shri Bhakta Hanuman, is located. This temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, one of the immortal celestial beings of the Hindu pantheon, and one of the central characters of the epic Ramayana. We will also visit the nearby Ramboda Falls. These tiered waterfalls are gorgeously tumbling over their 109 meters of height, which makes them the 11th highest in Sri Lanka.
  • When we arrive at Nuwara Eliya, we will spend time on activities on and around Lake Gregory. This artificial lake is a very popular leisure spot since it was dammed in the late 19th century. The most popular activities are trout fishing, boating, and jet skiing.

Day 3: Nuwara Eliya To Bentota

  • Our day we will start early, at 5 o’clock in the morning. Breakfast is provided in the form of a takeaway in the Horton Plains National Park.
  • The Horton Plains National Park is a protected area situated at an altitude range between 2,100 and 2,300 meters above sea level. Most of it is made of a plateau which ends with its most stunning feature, the World’s End. This precipice is a sheer cliff of around 1,200 meters in height. View from it is often obscured by the mists above the plains, and it is important to reach it before it settles in the valley.
  • Then we will continue our trip by visiting the Seetha Aman Temple, one of the rare Hindu temples dedicated to the princess Sita, wife of Lord Rama and central character of epic Ramayana. This temple was built at the spot which is believed to be a place of her captivity in Sri Lanka. Just above the temple is a wooded area where according to legend is a location of Ashok Vatika, the gardens of Lord Ravana mentioned in epic Ramayana, where Lord Hanuman met her for the first time under the Ashoka tree.
  • Continuing toward our next destination, we will see the St. Clair’s Falls, also known as the Little Niagara of Sri Lanka, and Devon Falls often called the Veil of the Valley.
  • Our next stop is at Kitulgala, a town on Kelani River which is popular for White Water Rafting.
  • Overnight stay and relax at the hotel in Bentota.

Day 4: Bentota to Air Port

  • After breakfast at the hotel in Bentota, we will start on our way to the airport.
  • On our way, we will embark on a one hour River Boat Safari on the Madu Ganga River in Kosgoda. One of the biodiversity hotspots Madu Ganga River’s estuary is a swampy marshland covered in the mangrove forest. The vegetation of riverbanks and many islands in it are relatively undisturbed areas, and home to many species of flora and fauna which are endemic to Sri Lanka.
  • We will pass through the city of Colombo and have a sightseeing tour of the largest city in Sri Lanka. You will see some of the most beautiful sights in this city. The Old Fort area, which houses many of the beautiful colonial-era buildings, such as the National Museum of Sri Lanka. You will have the opportunity to wander the colorful streets of historical Pettah neighborhood and see the astounding Pettah Floating Markets. We will pay a visit to Gangaramaya Temple located on the banks of Beira Lake, and also one of the most important monuments in the modern history of Sri Lanka, Independence Memorial Hall..
